Henry Brown, Discipleship Minister

I grew up in Nederland, Texas at First Baptist Church. I placed my faith in Christ during a Back-to-School Retreat in Hawkins in August 1985 and was baptized the same weekend. The next summer I answered the call to career ministry during Youth Camp at Texas Baptist Encampment in Palacios.

I attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood where I studied Theology and Youth Ministry. While I was at HPU, I served in the youth ministry at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church as the youth associate.

After graduation, I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth and Houston. I served here at FBCN as publications specialist and associate youth minister for five years during that time.

I moved to San Angelo to minister to Glen Meadows Baptist Church as Associate Pastor/Youth in 1997.

A short time later, I accepted a position at Student Discipleship Ministries in Fort Worth where I served for 16 years as special projects director. I was a youth worker at First Baptist Church in Burleson while I worked at Student Discipleship and was their interim youth pastor for 14 months.

Upon returning to Nederland to care for my mother, I was asked to serve as the interim youth pastor for a few months. I transitioned to discipleship ministry upon the arrival of the new youth pastor.

My desire is for God to use me as we see people in Mid-County become fully devoted followers of Christ.
